About
Antoine Menguy:
from manual therapy to Chinese medicine
Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, formerly a French state-certified physiotherapist, based in Petit Raffray, in the north of Mauritius, since late 2023.
The journey
From physiotherapy to Traditional Chinese Medicine
My first profession was hands-on therapy. Trained in Lyon as a French state-certified physiotherapist, I began my career there in 2016: seven years of practice in France, listening to bodies that rarely tell their whole story at the first attempt.
The turning point came in Marseille, almost by chance: a single acupuncture session brought clear relief to a case of dry eye that had resisted treatment. The experience struck me deeply enough to send me back to studying — in-depth training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, carried out without ever letting go of the physiotherapist’s rigour.
In late 2023 I settled in Mauritius and opened Cabinet Endémika in Petit Raffray, with a conviction built on more than ten years of clinical experience: your ailments are never isolated. Treating them for the long term requires reading the body as a whole.
Sport — CrossFit, trail running, obstacle races — remains my school of rigour and healthy living: you cannot ask of others a discipline you do not apply to yourself.

The method
A terrain assessment, two ways of reading the body
Two disciplines, one approach: understanding why a disorder has settled in, before trying to silence it. Chinese medicine calls this working on the terrain.
The terrain assessment
It starts before the session itself: a health questionnaire, filled in at home, which I study before your visit. At the practice, the first hour is a complete assessment — pulse, tongue, energetic diagnosis — to trace the symptom back to the imbalance that sustains it.
Anatomy + energetics, hand in hand
Hands first trained in physiotherapy read the anatomy; the Chinese medicine framework reads the energetics: the two speak to each other. Depending on the assessment, a session combines acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and manual therapy.
An honest framework
Traditional Chinese Medicine complements conventional medicine — it never replaces it: for any alarming symptom, your doctor comes first. And by the second or third session I give you an honest progress check — if nothing is moving, I adjust the approach or refer you on.

The practice sits at the heart of the Endémika plant nursery in Petit Raffray — a village in the north of the island, about ten minutes from Grand Baie, towards Goodlands. Sessions last 60 minutes, by appointment, in French or English; free parking awaits right outside the door.
