Why a photo
of your tongue?

In Chinese medicine, the tongue is seen as a faithful mirror of the internal organs. Its colour, the colour of its coating, its shape, its cracks and its red or pale areas allow the practitioner to establish a precise energetic diagnosis — without any invasive examination.

That is why the online herbal questionnaire asks for two photos of your tongue: one pointing down (top view) and one raised up (sublingual veins visible).

For herbal medicine, yes. Tongue reading (via high-quality photo), in-depth analysis of the health questionnaire and email exchanges allow a reliable TCM diagnosis. The only missing element is Chinese pulse taking — offset by a very detailed questionnaire on physical sensations, symptom timing and bodily feelings.

It depends on the nature and how long-standing the condition is. For acute issues (recent insomnia, stress, digestion), effects can be felt within 2 to 4 weeks. For chronic conditions (endometriosis, thyroid, hormonal disorders), 2 to 6 months of follow-up is usually needed. Chinese herbal medicine works deeply — not as a mere palliative.

JZ formulas are generally very safe, made under French standards. Precautions apply in cases of pregnancy, breastfeeding, anticoagulant treatment, a history of hormone-dependent cancer or liver disease. That is why the questionnaire asks about your current treatments and history — to adapt or rule out certain formulas.
